I Serve a Risen Savior

Hubbie and I spent some time yesterday afternoon working out at the cemetery....putting down fresh mulch and some fertilizer as well. Tyler's tree is not yet in bloom but the dark mulch really looked nice and the afternoon was so beautiful, it really was a balm for our hearts.

Another holiday without our sweet boy...sometimes the saddness threatens to overwhelm me. And then I remember - Easter.

Because of Easter - I have a risen Savior! A Savior that hears my cries, knows and understands my heartache and is able to comfort me. My grief is never greater than the love of my Heavenly Father!

At first, I wasn't sure a flag that proclaimed "Rejoice" was appropriate at the cemetery - but, because I have a risen, living Heavenly Father...I can rejoice! This grave is not the end. I have the assurance of eternal life - and a grand reunion with all the saints who've gone on before me - including my sweet Tyler.

I'm sure there will be some bittersweet moments this Sunday...there always are during the holidays, especially, but, no matter what - I am choosing to Rejoice!! I hope each of you have a blessed and beautiful Easter!!

  5. Oh Jennifer you are soo right of course. We serve a RISEN Savior and we have every reason to rejoice. The grave is not the end, but truly the beginning of a life forever in His presence. Tyler is there celebrating totally surrounded by His glory, and eventually we will all join him there. I believe Tyler will be there to greet you at the gates when you arrive, and what a day that will be. And in the meantime, you can rest in the knowledge and certainy of this. Have a WONDERFUL Easter my friend, and I pray the Lord will touch your heart and spirt with His comfort and presence in a special way. Much love, Debbie

  7. Hi Jenn,
Am glad that brings you a semblance of balm by going out to the cemetary and doing something for Tyler. Will sure be praying for you and your family, I know holidays have to be a very hard time, and I know you are doing your best to rejoice and want to which is great, but sometimes our hearts don't want to cooperate!
but you are right Jesus knows, and Jesus cares, and He knows just like you said he has overcome death! Praise His name!
May you have a quiet and Beautiful
Easter reflecting on the one and only comforter!
    Love and Blessings Sweet Girl!.

  11. I have found myself extra grateful for Easter the past couple of years. Because God was willing to sacrifice His Son for us, we can be reunited with our sons. I look forward to that day so much.

Thanks for the comment on my blog. (red haired boys are so special)

  13. Hi Jen! I miss Tyler SOOO much and was just thinking the other day about how much I wish he could meet Riley. I think he would have been the best uncle EVER! I'm also trying to hear how she would have probably pronounced his name...something like, "Ty-wer" or something.

I love the picture of the cemetery. Glad you and dad got out there for a little bit and were able to do some yard work around it. I'm not much of a green thumb person but I have heard that is very theraputic. Maybe I should actually give it a try. Although now is probably not a good time to start since it's getting SO HUMID here in Florida.

    Love you Jen!
